Yes, we have found a buyer.
Yes, we have found a home to buy.
Yes, we are in contract for both.
As our agent astutely points out, “It’s not over until it records.” In other words, all deals could fall apart until the counties of record have recorded both real estate sales. So the low-grade anxiety will continue for a few more weeks.
Things seem to be moving along well with the house we are selling. Contracts were signed with very little haggling. There has been no negative feedback about inspections. The appraisal is complete. The deadline for the buyers to release their contingencies is looming.

Consequently, we feel a bit like a sprinter at the block waiting for the starter gun. We need to finish packing, gather quotes from movers, swap things out of our storage unit, and work on a slew of other logistical details. Until the contingencies are released, we don’t feel comfortable diving headlong into the rest of the packing. So here we are on the starting block, touching the ground in front of us, one foot ready to push off, the other ready to follow, eyes focused on the road ahead, gathering ourselves and readying the need to expend a whole lot of energy in a fairly short amount of time.
Our new home will be, well, new. It is being built as I type this. We found a new housing development we like. When we first made the decision, there was only the foundation, rough plumbing and one floor of two framed. Now it looks like a house. We get to tour the home with it’s finished cabinets and hard surfaces very soon. Oh My Gosh. We are SO excited. More on that later.
